What this site does

Help Foster Youth is a resource directory and information and referral service. We gather information about programs and organizations that support children, youth and families connected to foster care.

Unless a page clearly identifies a program as our own, we do not provide the services listed here. We are not a child welfare agency, government office, legal or healthcare provider, housing provider, benefits office or emergency service. We cannot determine whether someone qualifies for a program or approve an application. The organization providing the service makes those decisions.

Listings are not endorsements

Including an organization does not mean Help Foster Youth endorses, certifies or guarantees it. Organizations listed on this site operate independently and are responsible for their own policies, staff, services and conduct.

If a listing says “reviewed” or “verified,” it means we checked available information for the accuracy of the listing. It does not mean we performed a licensing review, background check or safety inspection, or that a government agency certified the organization.

A “last reviewed” date shows when we last checked a listing. It does not guarantee that a program is still operating, funded or accepting people.

Scholarships and programs are not recommendations

The scholarships, programs, jobs and housing options listed on this site are not official recommendations from Help Foster Youth. We do not sponsor, administer or award any of them, and we have no say in who is selected.

Each sponsor sets its own eligibility rules, age limits, deadlines and award amounts. Before you apply, or before you make plans that depend on a listing, confirm directly with that sponsor or organization that you qualify and that the details are still current.

Information can change

Eligibility rules, age limits, service areas, deadlines, waitlists, contact information and available services may change without notice. Confirm current details directly with the organization, especially before making a decision about housing, benefits, healthcare, safety or another urgent need.

Other websites and professional advice

Links may take you to websites we do not own or control. Those websites have their own content, terms and privacy practices.

Information on Help Foster Youth is for general purposes. It is not legal, medical, mental health, financial or child welfare advice. A qualified professional, caseworker or appropriate agency can help with questions about a specific situation.

Emergencies

This site does not provide emergency response, and messages sent to us are not monitored for emergencies. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, see Using This Site Safely for services you can contact directly.

Limits of responsibility

We work to keep this site useful and accurate, but provide it “as is,” without a guarantee that its information is complete, current or suitable for a particular situation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clara Jean LaCelle and her directors, officers, staff and volunteers are not responsible for losses arising from use of the site, reliance on a listing or dealings with an independent organization. This does not limit any rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.

If information appears incorrect or an organization raises a safety concern, please contact us at info@helpfosteryouth.org. Do not include a young person’s identifying information in an ordinary email. We review reports, but this inbox is not an emergency or child abuse reporting service.
