HEALTH COVERAGE

Florida Medicaid for Former Foster Care Individuals (Health Coverage Under 26)

Health coverage for young adults who aged out of foster care, with no income limit. You can apply or renew through the state's MyACCESS system.

If you aged out of foster care in another state, ask DCF directly whether you qualify — rules for out-of-state former foster youth are handled case by case. Applications and renewals go through MyACCESS.

Do you qualify?

Are you under 26 years old?

Do you live in Florida now?

Were you in foster care on your 18th birthday or later?

Before you apply

  • Have your date of birth and a Florida address ready.
  • Bring anything showing you were in foster care at 18 or older — a court letter, a case number, or a caseworker’s contact. Missing paperwork should not stop you from applying.
  • Watch your mail and phone for follow-up questions.
