Most foster youth programs close their doors at 21 — and even health coverage through Medicaid ends at 26. After that, very few programs exist. This page collects the ones we have verified that still welcome former foster youth age 26 and older.

Why this list is short
Almost every foster youth benefit has an age limit. Extended foster care ends by 21. Education and Training Vouchers end at 26. Former Foster Youth Medicaid ends at 26. Once you pass those birthdays, the system is mostly silent — which is exactly why we built this page. Every listing below was checked to confirm it can serve someone who is 26 or older. We add new ones as we verify them.

If you don’t see what you need
- Call 211 (or visit 211.org) for local housing, food, job and utility help — no age limit, open to everyone.
- Your state’s child welfare agency can still confirm your foster care history, which many scholarships and programs accept as proof — even years later.
- Community colleges and trade schools often have emergency aid and adult-learner grants that do not ask about age. Mention your foster care history when you apply.
